Hey guys,
Super super sorry for not updating twice in a row. I’ve been having connectivity nightmares due to my badly designed modem and the unrelenting Australian summer.

I don’t know if I’ve already mentioned this, I can’t remember, but you should really give The Saboteur a try if you play video games. It may not gel for some, but being a modern history buff I appreciated getting a closer look at occupied Paris, no matter how fictionalised it may be. Behind all fiction is a degree of truth.

Hey guys,
Another lifetime ago I used to collect coins. The first coin I collected was a US penny I found in the mud outside my house. It was badly corroded and very stained, and looking at it, it was easy to simply forget that there were milions or billions more coins like this with more being made constantly, and to image it was something lost, something very old and beautiful.

Hey guys,
I am not used to being busy in January. It really is a very new thing for me.

The Saboteur is another game, like the new Wolfenstein, which got mixed reviews in the gaming press. In The Saboteur’s case reviews spoke of frequent pop-in of buildings due to slow data streaming and other technical issues. I can say that these issues do not exist for the PC version. I am having a very good time with it, the story being what you’d expect out of an open-world game, but the activity of blowing up Nazi installations being fun and very cool. I only wish that the player was able to, you know, throw dynamite as you'd expect, instead of needing to sneak up and plant it yourself.

Hey guys,
It is amusing and somewhat unsettling if you really listen to the language used in talking about the family. A lot of it is very businesslike. Instead of raising a child, for example, you schedule extra-curricular activities to keep them busy and productive, you monitor their school progress with reports and interviews. A parent might multi-task and coordinate or even facilitate, depending on how facetious you want to get about it.

A lot of the kids I grew up with were doing so much extra work in between school hours that they did not have a real and workable grasp of the concept of play, always equating it with going out and ‘doing’ stuff, often with other people. It is important that children learn that being alone and not actually doing anything is fine, and even necessary.

This is the great problem of our lifetimes: that we might have a child for love and then, because of all our work, leave them with someone who takes care of them for money.
